Beloved former One Direction members express their heartbreak online to their bandmate Liam Payne after finding out about his tragic death.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where authorities confirmed that Payne died from severe injuries sustained in the fall.
According to news outlets, a preliminary autopsy report revealed that he died from multiple injuries involving “internal and external hemorrhage.”
Buenos Aires police responded to a 911 call reporting an aggressive individual possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
SAME (Emergency Medical Assistance System) Director Alberto Crescenti reportedly said in a TV interview via La Nacion, “At 5:04 p.m., through 911 and the integrated public security system, we were alerted about a person in the internal courtyard of the CasaSur hotel.”
The news of his untimely death has prompted an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow musicians.
Payne leaves behind his 7-year-old son Bear Grey whom he shares with his ex, singer Cheryl Cole.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.
