#NEWSYOUCANUSE: Black and Brown children are all too often subjected to racist treatment from teachers, principals, and other school staff. Just last year the police were called on a four-year-old Black child in a Waterloo school, meanwhile, a local teacher is facing charges for taping students to a desk! Well, a group of parents known as the Black Parents Council of Kitchener Waterloo is now fighting back against the horrific treatment their children are facing, and have released a list of demands created to invoke the change they want to see. Two of the council’s founders, Selam and Lena, joined Brandon on this episode of #NYCU to discuss their stories, and the change they are fighting to see.
