TikToker claims “75% of people in relationships are just in relationships because they don’t know how to be alone” sparking Questions About Modern Love.

A recent viral TikTok is sparking some questions about modern love after creator @undiagnosedanthony posted a video that has now accumulated over 4 million views claiming that he believes “75% of people in relationships are just in relationships because they don’t know how to be alone” and then doubled down and said “f*** it i’m going up to 80%…They just don’t know how to be alone”

And with over 11 thousand comments people had a lot to say. “As a wedding photographer, yes,” one user commented. Another said “so offensive. I’m in a relationship because rent is too high”

The Brandon Gonez Show took the conversation offline and into the streets of Toronto, asking locals: If they think some people are in a relationship because they don’t know how to be alone?

One passerby agreed, saying, “Yes I do. I think being alone can be really hard for some people, especially if you live in a big city.”

Another shared, “You need to learn to love being by yourself before you can truly love being in a relationship with someone else.”

While the accuracy of the “75%” claim is up for debate, the conversation it’s sparked reveals something much deeper on how many people may be beginning to question why they are with their significant other.

Anthony’s viral take forces a cultural mirror on many love lives, if they’are choosing partners out of genuine connection—or out of fear of being alone.
