Tim Hortons Fans Go Wild as ‘Roll Up to Win’ Returns – Here’s What You Need to Know!

For over 35 years, Tim Hortons’ ‘Roll Up to Win’ has been a Canadian tradition — but when the pandemic hit, the beloved contest rolled its way into the digital age.

The contest returned to its traditional roots on Feb. 23, and all players need to do is purchase a hot beverage from Tim Hortons, and roll up their rim. Prizes include gift cards, free food, smartphones, and even a 2025 all electric Volkswagen.

“I think it’s a great promotion, it’s very Canadian,” one unnamed local told Now Toronto.

“I remember being a kid and loving Roll Up To Win,” Venkat V said. “Never won a car yet, fingers crossed, hopefully we get lucky.”

Another local named Nick D. went on to say he prefers being able to roll up their physical coffee cup, rather than playing through an online contest.

“It’s more interactive that way,” they said. “So, it’s a little bit more stimulating when you can actually physically hold a cup and see an instant response from it rather than doing it on your phone, it’s kind of boring that way.”

Although the contest is returning to its physical format, the digital portion will still exist for this year’s game. Customers can earn ‘digital rolls’ by creating a Tim Hortons account, and scanning their Tim Rewards card, and unlike the physical element those rolls can be earned on food items as well.

Hopefuls will have a chance to win prizes until the contest closes on Mar. 23, and lucky winners can claim their food and beverage prizes in any Tim Horton restaurants until Apr. 9, while all other winners have until Apr. 29.
