Central Cee is showing love to his Caribbean roots at Toronto Show Night 1

UK rapper Central Cee has been repping Guyana hard recently and on night one of his Can’t Rush Greatness tour here in Toronto. Cench was not only wearing a Guyana flag wrapped around his head the entire performance but was also rocking a retro Caribana shirt a clear nod to his Caribbean roots and a heartfelt tribute to his father’s homeland.

The UK rapper has opened up a few times about his background saying his mom is of English background while his father is of Chinese Guyanese origins. This cultural blend has shaped both his identity and his artistry, and he’s recently been spotlighting his Caribbean heritage more prominently.

Just a few weeks ago, Cench turned heads at the Met Gala, where he wore a sleek all-black suit accessorized with a bold Guyana brooch — a subtle but striking homage on one of fashion’s biggest stages.

Adding to the electric energy of the Toronto show was a surprise appearance from none other than Drake, who took a moment to give Cench his flowers.  “That guy right there, that’s my f****** brother,” Drake said to roaring cheers. “I’ve seen this guy from day one… a humble spirit, a hard worker. This man observed all that he needed to observe, put the work in, and made the songs. He’s one of the best people I know. Congratulations…I’m so proud of you.”

As Central Cee continues to rise globally, Caribbean and Guyanese fans around the world are proud that Cench is representing his culture on a global stage.
