Ever think of enjoying a yummy holiday festive meal with other commuters on the public transit?
Well, there have been several videos posted across various social media platforms showcasing people enjoying Thanksgiving dishes on the New York subway.
In the video, a table was already set with silver catering trays placed onto them for people to eat. They’re seen in cheerful moods dancing and smiling while passing plates and beverages around.
Riders were on the L Train and it was reported the food was served by Bea’s Kitchen in East New York. Some of the food people ate were mac and cheese, turkey and green bean casserole.
People reacted to the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, and one user commented “Makes me happy to see this.”
Another user said, “That’s way too many people I don’t know standing around the food for me! But a nice gesture considering the crap going on in our country!”
In another video posted on TikTok, someone yells out, “Welcome to thanksgiving ya’ll!”
And proceeded to yell, “Thanksgiving,” while others chanted back, “On the train!” in cheers.
As for Torontonians who may also be celebrating the upcoming holidays, is this something you can imagine people doing on the TTC subway? And if you were offered a plate during your commute home would you take it?
