A viral TikTok video sparks questions about Sephora’s return policies and some users are afraid they’ll be banned for refunding too many times.
TikTok user @anna.ev.pothier posted a video expressing concerns about returning products at Sephora and claims the makeup company will ban customers for returning too often.
“Ever since I found out that you can get banned from returning things at Sephora, uhm I get stressed out every time,” she said.
She said if she’s not satisfied with a product she will return it because their products aren’t cheap, but she gets nervous over being denied the return and banned.
“They can ban you from returning if you return too often. I get like anxiety every time she scans, I’m just ready for something to print out,” she added.
According to Sephora’s website it says, “If you are not completely satisfied with a Sephora purchase or gift for any reason, Sephora welcomes you to return new or gently used products for a full refund to your original method of payment if returned within 30 days of purchase, in most cases.”
Although their policy does not specify on bans it does explain some cases where refunds may not be honoured.
“Sephora monitors return activity by customers for abuse, and if we detect what we consider to be excessive or potentially fraudulent return activity from a customer, that customer may be notified in writing that Sephora will no longer accept any returns from that customer, with or without a receipt,” the website says.
Some users commented on her video and are offering solutions on how to avoid returning too many times.
“You can test the products before you buy them!” one user said.
“Just ask for samples before buying!” another chimed in.
A former Sephora manager stitched the video and confirmed people can be banned from returning products at Sephora.
The Brandon Gonez Show contacted Sephora for comment, but did not receive a comment in time for publication.
