What was originally classified as an accidental drowning back in October is now much more complicated. Here are all the updates.

When Matthew Perry was found lying face down in his pool on October 28 2023 Fans were in shock and many questioned if his death was just a drowning since his history of abuse with alcohol and drugs was something he was very open about. However recent investigation and autopsy reports show that the amount of Ketamine found in Matthews’s body was the same amount that is used during general anesthesia.

Matthew was allegedly using Ketamine to treat depression and The doctor allegedly supplying Matthew with this amount of ketamine was Salvador Plasencia. Plasencia then reached out to Chavez because he owned a ketamine clinic and Perry wanted to get his hands on some more. In a text message, they discussed how much they would charge him.

“I wonder how much this moron will pay,” said Dr Plasencia

“Let’s find out” replied Dr Chavez

US attorney Martin Estrada said

“These defendants took advantage of Mr Perry’s addiction issues to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was wrong, they knew what they were doing was risking great danger to Mr perry but they did it anyways”

Plasencia went on to give Perry and his assistant Kennet Iwamasa large amounts of ketamine. The indictment said that Plasencia would inject Perry with the drugs and also taught Iwamasa to do as well.

Now Between the beginning of September and the end of October Matthew Perry was allegedly sold $55,000 worth of ketamine.

“The ketamine queen” Jasveen Sangha a local drug dealer and Erik Fleming, referred to as an acquaintance, later became involved when the assistant reached out to them for additional ketamine.

The indictment says on October 28 Iwamasa injected Perry with at least 3 shots of ketamine. And  On August 15th, 2024 the 5 suspects involved were charged. Plasencia is facing 100 years in prison and the ketamine queen is facing life.

Keith Morrison Perry’s stepfather told NBC

“We were and still are heartbroken by Matthews’s death but it has helped to know law enforcement has taken his case very seriously”

The family of Mr Perry say they are looking forward to seeing justice being served.
