The five-time GRAMMY winner Shania Twain is honoured as one of eight people with a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll made in her likeness.
Mattel has announced Canadian country superstar as a Barbie Role Model in honour of International Women’s Day.
The five-time GRAMMY winner shared a post on X to express her excitement and gratitude for creating a reflection of her.
The doll is dressed in a long black coat, thigh high black boots and matching hat. The outfit also resembles what she wore in her iconic 1997 hit, “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!”
“As a young girl, I was inspired by the essence of Barbie to create my own imaginative world and express myself through role playing and storytelling,” the country artist said in a press release.
“I applaud Barbie for encouraging girls to create their own narratives and I’m honored to serve as a storyteller and role model during their 65th anniversary year,” Twain continued.
“I hope other young girls are inspired to play out their dreams and recognize their limitless potential,” she added.
People online are calling this special announcement a full circle moment because when they were kids they loved playing with and enjoyed her music.
Others call it a tribute to her career.
Another person revealed they’ve never had a Barbie doll before, but think it’s time to purchase one.
The brand is also honouring other global storytellers with one-of-a-kind role model dolls made in their likeness such as Viola Davis, Dame Helen Mirren, Kylie Minogue, Maira Gomez, Lila Avilés, Nicole Fujita and Enissa Amani.
The Barbie brand celebrates its 65th anniversary on March 9.
