Drake broke the internet last week with his surprise three album drop, the viral moment of icing out the C.N. Tower and putting on a fireworks show for Toronto, and the rapper continues to make headlines days later.
The hype around Drake is not ending anytime soon as fans react to his newest project, an upcoming sneaker collab and people are loving the commercial.
“Lmao I always forget how funny he is,” said a user on The Brandon Gonez Show post.
The rapper teamed up with his friend and NBA star Kevin Durant in a new Nike commercial promoting their sneaker collaboration, the NOCTA x Nike KD 19’s.
The commercial brought Drake back to his “Degrassi” days, brushing up on his acting chops and bringing his comedic timing to camera.
The spot shows Drake playing a “yes man” comedically hyping up every odd looking shoe Durant shows him, before bringing out the real deal. A blue monochrome sneaker that Durants calls “The Candies”.
Drake responds saying, “The candy man’s home. Ow. Oh, wait, did I just get a cavity?” and this has the internet rolling.
“Canadians make some of the funniest comedy. RemembA mih tell yuh,” said another user.
The pair have had a long-term friendship and Drake even gave Durant a shout-out on his new album “Maid of Honour” on the song “Q&A” when he says, “me and KD got way too much cheese.”
The Nike KD 19 sneaker collab will be dropping on June 17.
