Made up of seven mixed-use towers and mid-rise buildings, The Well will sprawl across a 7.8-acre site situated at Front and Spadina. Though still under construction, 79% of retail spaces and 90% of office spaces in the development are already leased! The development will feature 320,000 sq. ft. of total retail space and 1.2 million sq. ft. of office space, along with 1.5 million sq. ft of new residential space which includes 1,700 condos and suites.

The centre will also have many facilities for fitness buffs and medical care. Sweat and Tonic will be one onsite wellness hub at The Well, as well as the healthcare centre HealthOne.

It will also feature a flagship restaurant that will be “capitalizing on sweeping 360° city views from the 36th floor of one of the Well’s towers” according to a press release and will include a dining room, bar, sushi counter, and chef’s rail. The menu will be based on American cooking, with influences from across the United States from Miami to New York City to Los Angeles. It will also include Canada’s first Prince St. Pizza location, an iconic New York-based pizzeria. A two-level British-style tavern and French Bistro are also in the works.

The Well will be home to the new Wellington Market, a venue featuring various different places to eat and drink with local produce and artisanal food.

“The 70,000 sq.ft. market will offer everything from the core essentials to the adventurous, celebrating the best of Toronto’s diverse food scene in a lively environment,” reads a press release. The market will be liquor licensed, so you can share a few drinks with friends or take a wander on date night with extended evening hours.

Currently, the Wellington Market has confirmed the following vendors: La Cubana, Hooky’s, Ren Sushi,  a new to market Korean-focused concept, Chun Yang Tea, Lobster Burger Bar, Rosie’s Burgers, Isabella’s Mochi Donuts, and Sweetie Pie.

The new development will also bring a ton of jobs to the city. According to an economic impact report from The Altus Group, The Well will generate more than 23,000 person-years of employment and over $300 million in household income. The annual economic benefit from the ongoing operations of The Well are estimated to add up to approximately $939 million in economic activity for Toronto. The Well will offer space for 5,000 new office jobs, 1,200 new retail jobs, and over 1,700 new residences split between three signature condominiums and three purpose-built rental residences.
