An 11-year-old boy from York Region is making headlines for his go-getter attitude at such a young age, creating a garbage bin cleaning business called “Your Bin Cleaning”.
Ashton Meyer recently started going door to door offering neighbours to clean their garbage bins for $10, and also documented him pitching his business to customers.
By showcasing his charm and determination, from handling rejection to experiencing celebratory moments, Meyer’s videos blew up and went viral online and he gained a following of over 90,000 on social media.
His most popular video, which has over one million likes, shows Meyer as he documents his seventh day of going door to door, pitching his cleaning service.
Meyer is planning to continue his business during his summer break, hoping to expand into a lawn care business for the fall and spring seasons, as well as snow removal during the winter.
“I’m doing this all summer,” said Meyer to a neighbour in the video.
Many online are expressing how blown away they are of Meyer, crediting his parents for raising such an admirable 11-year-old.
“You’re going to absolutely dominate in life bro. I would have hired you in a second. Great job and props to your parents,” commented a user on his video.
Another user stated that this type of behaviour in children should be recognized and supported by the neighbourhood, even if the person doesn’t necessarily need the service.
“I would 100% have him do this monthly even if they don’t need doing..because his drive and get up and go attitude needs rewarding,” the user wrote.
On Meyer’s latest video, he shared his excitement that he got to clean two bins and also got an extra reward that day. The end of the video stated, “I charge 10 dollars for all your bins…today I also got a 10 dollar tip. 20 total!”
