A British TikToker has sparked conversation on the quality of Canada’s health-care system after raving about the efficiency of the country’s medical services.
In the video, user rkonamission, who goes by RK, said, “health care in Toronto is beautiful.” He explained that the waitlist in the U.K. for his shoulder x-ray “could take up to three months,” but he was able to get a referral for a same-day x-ray and an ultrasound in Toronto.
RK was in disbelief that he was able to get both tests done within the hour without having to pay upfront. He ended the video saying Canadians “don’t realize how good [they] got it. Man, it’s good.”
One user commented, “[It’s] refreshing to hear a positive take about health care here.” To which RK replied, “Oh for sure! I guess you only know when you experience other health systems ☺️”.
Another commented, “Wait…what?? 3 months for an xray in England????is this a joke😂😂???”
Other viewers had similar sentiments to RK.
“I think people who complain about Canada healthcare just haven’t left the country lol,” one user said.
“Sometimes i forget how lucky we are”.

In response to a comment asking what the U.K. health-care system was like, he followed up with another video, breaking down the similarities and differences between health care in the U.K. and Canada.

He said the main difference is wait times to see a specialist. RK added while living in the U.K., he waited for six weeks to get an x-ray and waitlists to see a specialist are upwards of six months. But, in Canada, he was able to access the same services within two weeks.
RK said while both countries have stellar medical professionals, he prefers Canada’s health-care system.
