It’s the crime show Torontonians have been waiting for!
Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent premieres next month and to excite fans even more, Citytv has dropped the official trailer and you’ll never guess the drama the show included.
In its latest trailer, the television show references former mayor Rob Ford’s infamous 2013 scandal. The clip features a character smoking crack cocaine with the headline “Crack Mayor! Video posted on account of slain reporter Tatiana Wynn,” a blatant reference to the late mayor who struggled with substance abuse during his time in office.
“The press is going to be all over this one. This is not the kind of leadership we want our children to see,” a character in the show’s trailer said.

The new drama follows the Specialized Criminal Investigations team of elite detective duo, Detective Sergeants Henry Graff and Frankie Bateman as they take on high-profile homicides across the Greater Toronto Area.
The trailer highlights some of the city’s most iconic landmarks such as the CN Tower, Yonge and Dundas (soon-to-be named Sankofa Square), Nathan Phillips Square and of course, the Toronto sign.
The show’s cases are inspired by some of the country’s biggest headlines and explores themes such as high finance, politics, real estate, media, and more.
“From the old-money glamour of Rosedale’s ravine-side homes to the vibrant, family-owned shops of Little India, City Hall to the city’s underpasses, Toronto will be featured in all of its raw, complex, and diverse glory,” a press release issued Thursday said.
The adaptation stars an all-Canadian ensemble cast that includes Aden Young, Kathleen Munroe, Karen Robinson and K.C. Collins, among others.
Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent premieres on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on Citytv and is available to stream on Citytv+.
