An Oklahoma City Thunder player won a lawsuit against a company that sold him a luxury home without disclosing vital information.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his girlfriend Hailey Summers closed on the home they bought in Burlington, ON together on May 10, 2023. However, their dream home turned into an unexpected nightmare.
It was reported four days after moving into their home that a stranger knocked on their door demanding the whereabouts of Aiden Pleterski, also known as the self-proclaimed ‘Crypto King.’
Pleterski allegedly owes at least $35 million to investors after scamming them and it’s been reported the property has a history of random people showing up demanding where his whereabouts are.
The couple claimed they did not know who Pleterski was until Summers searched him up on the internet. After discovering who he was they immediately left the property and never returned back.
Gilgeous-Alexander filed a lawsuit against the company that them the property without disclosing that the ‘Crypto King’occupied it previously.
It’s been reported that the judge, Justice Robert J. Centa, has ruled in favour of the NBA star because the owner of the luxury home, made “fraudulent misrepresentation” of the $8 million property and they marketed it as “private and secure.”
“I find that the corporate owner of the Burlington property made a fraudulent misrepresentation to the plaintiff and failed to disclose a latent in the Burlington property,” Centa said in a statement.
Centa has agreed to cancel the real estate sale and awarded the NBA star “equitable damages.”
