Following a $25, 000 fine from the NBA, Sportsnet’s Danielle Michaud reports Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram apologized several times to the affected attendant for the seemingly out-of-character outburst. He told Michaud that “it was just the frustrations of the game that came out,” and that he wished the incident did not “involve anyone else”.

However, some fans are still upset by the incident. During the Nov. 11 game at the Barclay’s Center, an attendant can be heard saying “Somebody boo this man” when he was taking a foul shot at the free throw line.

The water bottle incident occurred on Nov. 8 during an away game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Xfinity Mobile Arena. In a statement released Monday, NBA Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations James Jones said the fine was issued to Ingram “for forcibly throwing his water bottle to the floor” while seated on the bench after being fouled by Sixers forward Trendon Watford.

According to the league, the bottle made contact with a game attendant, causing a delay while the court was cleaned with 6:25 remaining in the third quarter.

The Raptors went on to lose 130-120, breaking their four-game winning streak.

Ingram, a 10-year NBA veteran, joined Toronto ahead of the 2025–26 season after being acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans. He signed a three-year, $120 million contract with the team in February.

Looking ahead, the Raptors will face the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday night.
