You probably recall seeing the viral “Water” dance trend all over your social media feed by South African artist Tyla.
The song Water gained popularity with people hopping on the ‘Water’ dance challenge.
However, some people online questioned if she was just a “one hit wonder.”
“I hope Tyla doesn’t turn to (be a) one hit wonder,” one X user said.
Well, she’s making waves again because she announced the release of three new songs to her self-titled album TYLA. The songs include ‘On and On,’ ‘Truth or Dare’ and ‘Butterfly.
“Tyla is definitely beating the one hit wonder allegations,” another X user said.
In her recent Instagram post she wrote, “Everything that’s happening has surpassed anything I could have dreamt of. African music is going global and I’m so blessed to be one of the artists pushing the culture.”
And other artists jumped into the comment section such as Bia saying, “GO TYLA 😍🔥🔥 “
Plus, singer and actor Trevor Jackson slid in with three flames in the comments!
Remember people online were eating him up for his viral remake of ‘Water?’
“I’ve been working on my sound for 2 years now and I’m so ready for the world to hear it,” Tyla said.
“I cannot wait for the world to experience an African popstar,” she added.
Her album is set to release on March 1, 2024.
