The Trudeau family is making headlines again, but this time it is not about Canada’s past Prime Minister’s current dating life.

Emerging R&B artist Xav Trudeau performed last night at the halftime of the home opener for the Ottawa Blackjacks.

Xav Trudeau is the son of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and he recently started his music career last year with the release of his debut single “Till The Nights Done”.

The 18 year old is signed to Pathway Music Group based in Ottawa and has since released five singles and an EP.

He posted a video to social media on May 12, promoting his halftime performance featuring none other than his father Justin Trudeau, standing on the Blackjacks basketball court logo at TD Place.

“I’m just a proud dad at soundcheck,” says Justin Trudeau in the video.

Xav Trudeau took centre court and performed alongside BlackJacks’ dancers and to a full crowd during halftime.

“It was so good,” a user commented on a post shared on Ottawa Blackjacks’ official Instagram post teasing last night’s performance.

This is Ottawa Blackjacks’ seventh season in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) and in last night’s game opener they defeated Calgary Surge.
