On the night of “Iceman” Eve, a surprise fireworks show will be on display at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, and there’s speculation that Drake may be behind this.
The excitement is real over iconic Canadian rapper and singer Drake’s new album “Iceman” that is set to drop on May 15, and this firework show is drawing more interest if there is a connection.
The Brandon Gonez Show received a statement from the City of Toronto saying, “At 10:45 p.m. tonight, there will be a 10-minute fireworks display on the water at Harbourfront Centre. This permitted fireworks display is part of a private video shoot and has been co-ordinated in accordance with applicable City of Toronto requirements.”
“Residents in the surrounding area should expect brief loud noises and bright flashes of light during the fireworks display. We recommend keeping pets indoors and notifying household members who may be sensitive to noise or light. The display will be brief, and we thank the public for their understanding.”
Drake has been executing a mastermind marketing campaign to build the hype around his “Iceman” album, and it has definitely gotten people excited, talking and at times confused.
The giant ice sculpture that was placed downtown drew so much attention to the city and worldwide on social media last month, followed by a planned but surprising explosion at Downsview Park.
This also comes after sightings of light projections on the C.N. tower on Wednesday night that fans are assuming has to do with the rapper’s new album releasing on Friday.
Drake seems to be a man of many surprises, so the coincidental timing of this fireworks show is definitely raising eyebrows.
