Starting May 19, Delta Airlines will no longer be offering complimentary food and drinks on shorter flights and people are surprised and shaking heads at this news.
The Brandon Gonez Show asked Toronto locals their thoughts on this implementation coming to the American airline.
“I love a good pop when I go on any sort of flight and I take the pretzels very seriously, so I probably would not fly with them anymore if I were to make a decision,” says Courtney N.
“I’m not a huge air eater,. but, I mean, yeah, I don’t mind pop either. I feel like that is kind of crazy, though, to not even offer it,” Owen S told The BG Show.
This new policy will apply to passengers travelling under 350 miles and reportedly this will affect around 450 flights per day.
People on social media are voicing their frustrations with this change as prices for flights are getting more and more expensive.
“I think if you’re paying crazy prices for flights, there should be good accommodation for sure,” Owen S. adds.
But another thing users are frustrated about is the enjoyment of Biscoff cookies that Delta Airlines would give on their flights.
“Yeah, I would be sad. That’s like, the only thing that I would actually snack because I’m not really a snacker on aeroplane flights,” said Yasmin A.
Delta’s website currently states under the “Every Flight” title, “From our signature Biscoff® cookies to special-order meals, we’re refreshing onboard refreshments with the foods and drinks you love.”

Some flights that used to give passengers beverages like water, coffee, tea and two small snack choices will no longer offer that service for people flying in Delta Comfort or Delta Main.
But flights shorter than 250 miles already didn’t offer snacks or drinks in those seating sections, so there will be no changes to these flights.
This update also comes just days after Spirit airlines announced their immediate shut down this weekend.
