“No fans can touch Canadian fans” Lilly Singh shares her excitement for Toronto Tempo’s home opener

The Scarborough born entertainer, and part owner and Chief Hype Officer of the Toronto Tempo WMBA team, Lilly Singh is excited for tonight’s opening game.

The Brandon Gonez Show spoke to Lilly Singh at Departure Festival on May 7 and she shared how she feels in anticipation of the historical night for the city.

“What I definitely know 110 percent, is that the Toronto fans are going to bring it,” Singh told the BG Show.

As Chief Hype Officer, she celebrates the team and drives community excitement which she is already doing so well.

“I was watching the playoffs in L.A.and I was just like, ‘no fans can touch Toronto fans. No fans can touch Canadian fans’. I will die on that hill. I will say that in any city, in any country. I’m not scared,” she said.

Toronto Tempo is the first WMBA Canadian team, marking a monumental time for Toronto, the country as a whole but also women.

“I’m excited to see this city be able to cheer on for a new team, for girls and women. Everybody watches women’s sports! I can’t wait to hear that in the arena,” Singh shared.

She also gave the show a sweet shoutout saying, “Brandon, I love you!”

The game opener will take place at the Coca-Cola Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. E.T. and the Toronto Tempo will face the Washington Mystics.
