Outdoor pools in Toronto are staying open until close to midnight on Wednesday in response to the heat warning in effect for the city.
Pool hours are extended until 11:45 p.m. today at seven outdoor pools across the city:
- Alex Duff Memorial Pool
- Giovanni Caboto Outdoor Pool
- McGregor Park Community Centre
- Monarch Park
- Parkway Forest Outdoor Pool
- Smithfield Park Outdoor Pool
- Sunnyside Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool
The city also extended the hours at these pools on Tuesday due to the hot weather.
These pools are free to the public for leisure and lane swimming throughout the summer.

On Tuesday, Environment Canada issued a multi-day heat warning through Thursday for Toronto with the maximum temperature reaching 32 C, but feeling up to 40 C with humidity.
Wednesday’s high is set to hit 31 C but will feel like 39 with humidity. A mix of sun and cloud is also expected today with a chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm.
