Hennessy and The Grammy-Award winning artist Nas have released a limited-edition V.S. bottle honouring hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.
The rap king was born and raised in Queens, New York in 1973, just one month after hip-hop was born.
Nas embodies the culture of hip-hop lyrically by his incredible story-telling ability, sound and rhythm. The New York native witnessed first-hand the evolution of the music genre and culture that it has grown to be today.
Hennessy has always had a strong connection with hip-hop by supporting and embracing the culture. Throughout the years, ‘hennessy’ has been mentioned in over 2,500 hip-hop songs.

The limited-edition bottle embodies that art of hip-hop’s past, present and future. The packaging of the bottle showcases elements of hip-hop such as an image of Nas, the artist’s favourite colour orange, a heart-felt note to hip-hop and includes a twist to the branding’s name, “HenNASsy”.
The box features a heartfelt message written by Nas to commemorate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. The note says,

Some say you were born fifty years ago when a creative soul with a big sound system threw a block party that ended up changing the world. Other people say you’ve been with us all along, in all our praise songs and our blue notes.
I was born a month after you. Before I knew what to call you, I felt you. In Queensbridge, the place where I grew up, guys used to build speakers so big they couldn’t fit them through the door. Those speakers made a beautiful noise that vibrated the building, the block, and before long, the city, the country, and the whole wide world. Paris to Lagos, Tokyo to Rio. All the way to the moon.
