Toronto is full of pleasant surprises today, from Drake’s triple album release to a fun note the “6 God” sent to Toronto’s Mayor, Olivia Chow.
In a social media post on Friday morning, Chow shared a photo of a note addressed to her by the Iceman himself, along with a photo of the rapper sitting in her office at City Hall.
“Thank you my crodi Crolivia Chow! Iceman 2026,” the note read.
Responding to the note, the mayor praised the rapper for boosting up the city’s image and said she was “happy to host his team at City Hall.”
Drake’s reference to “crodi” comes from the slang term “crodie,” which is commonly used to refer to a trustworthy friend who one can count with through the good or bad, as explained in the Urban Dictionary.
“Crodie” is only one of the terms used in the characteristic Toronto slang, which is uniquely rooted in Jamaican Patois, Somali and Arabic, with British English influences.

The note comes as Drake took over Toronto’s waterfront, lighting up the CN Tower and featuring a 10-minute firework display at the Harbourfront Centre, as part of the highly-anticipated Iceman album release.
On top of Iceman, the artist also surprised fans by dropping other two albums: Maid of Honour and Habibti.
The big reveal comes after Drake took over Toronto’s downtown area with a giant ice block to hype up fans for the album.

On top of all the activations for the albums across the city, one of the rapper’s music videos ‘Make Them Remember’ shows him inside of city hall, including the council chamber and the mayor’s office.
Mayor Olivia Chow’s team sent a statement to The Brandon Gonez Show giving Drake his flowers.
“Drake is a big booster of our city. The Mayor recognizes Drake’s impact representing Toronto on the global stage. His team filmed a video at Toronto City Hall overnight, on Easter weekend, and it included the Mayor’s office,” her team said in the statement.
“The City’s film office and relevant departments facilitated required permits and the video shoot. A member of the Mayor’s staff was on site while the production team was in the Mayor’s office and while the chain was being used. His team treated the Mayor’s office with care and respect.”
The whole world is talking about Drake and how he brought not only Tonotonians together, but also his fans and music lovers by taking his album release to new heights.
