Panama lost their opening match to Ghana 1-0 but are still confident that they will defeat Croatia.
“Panama 2-0,” a fan told The Brandon Gonez Show at the Panama fan march.
Croatia was also defeated by England 4-2 their opening match last week.
“I think it’s gonna be really close, but I think Croatia is gonna pull ahead. I think it’s gonna be 5-3 Croatia,” Croatian fan Logan told The Brandon Gonez Show.
Win or lose, this is a sentimental moment for local fans and those traveling from abroad to see the city filled with such immense love and support.
Croatia fans that travelled to Toronto for today’s game shared their admiration for the city so far.
“Oh it’s much better than America. I have to say that me and my wife, we were in New York for a couple of days, and we get this opportunity to come here, and we completely grab it,” said Croatian fan Josip.
As thousands head to Toronto Stadium for the fourth World Cup match hosted at the venue, there is a shared sense of excitement regardless of the outcome.
