Today marks 190 years of Toronto as we know it, so we asked our followers what they love and hate most about their home.
It seems like modern day Torontonians have mixed feelings about the state of the city, here’s what they had to say.
One person said they liked the parks, trails & ravines, live music, art, but hate the majority of architecture, while others said they were a fan of the city’s wide variety of cuisine.
“Our diversity, which means our food,” another person responded.
“The TTC. There. I said it,” one person said, with a hint of sarcasm.
Mayor Olivia Chow also shared her thoughts in a tweet on Wednesday morning where she acknowledged the city’s indigenous populations.
“Before ‘York’ or ‘Toronto’, this has been the home of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat,” she wrote.
