A Burger King employee who never missed a day of work in 27 years has made a huge purchase thanks to a crowdsourcing fund.
A video of Burger King employee Kevin Ford went viral in June 2022 for revealing a goodie bag that he received from his company.
The goodie bag contained a movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, pens, candy, a lanyard and a couple of keychains.
People were appalled because Ford said he never missed a day at work during the last 27 years working for the company.
His daughter, Seryna Ford, created a GoFundMe account for her father and that money has since raised nearly $450,000, which is the goal.
“My dad continues to work there, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement. In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money but if anyone feels like blessing him he would love to visit his grandchildren,” the caption says.
According to TMZ, Ford walked away with about $350,000 from the crowdsourcing fund because GoFundMe took a sizeable chunk, and he used about half to buy a place in Pahrump, Nevada for $177,000.
Ford posted a video online showing his followers his new Nevada home,, which also makes him a homeowner for the first time.
The GoFundMe page caption has been updated and it says, “This Was ALL Made Possible Because of YOU!!! This Is Truly a Christmas Miracle and You Were ALL a Part of It!!! MUCH LOVE, Thank You and May God Bless and Keep You ALL in the New Year and Beyond… LLP Kevin Ford KEVIN-27-YEARS YouTube CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!!”
“I want to thank everyone all around the world for what you’ve done for me, something I have never thought would be possible for me, homeownership,” Ford said in the video.
“Now my kids and my grandkids have someplace to come visit me,” he added.
