What to Expect From VELD 2023 and How You Can Win Two Tickets

Summertime in Toronto is synonymous with festival season, and this summer is no exception. VELD, Canada’s largest electronic music festival, is returning to Toronto for its tenth anniversary, and we’re gearing up to attend. The three-day event is going down from August 4 to 6 at Downsview Park, and we’ve got the scoop on everything the festival has to offer.

Boasting what organizers have called their most exciting lineup to date, headliners at this year’s VELD include international icon Tiësto; electronic dance music group Above & Beyond; artist, DJ and producer, Zedd; Canadian duo Loud Luxury; and Denver-based producer Illeniumm.

Deadmau5 will return to VELD for this year’s festival, with a special twist. The artist will hit the stage as a headliner with a back-to-back performance alongside Niagara Falls’ DJ and producer Rezz. The show will mark the first time the two Canadian talents will perform together under the name RezzMau5, while also marking a full circle moment for Deadmau5: one VELD’s veteran performers.

There are tons of other performances you won’t want to miss, including Vancouver’s very own electronic music duo Bob Moses, as well as electronic music duo Sofi Tukker, and Italy’s Meduza.

Performances will be happening across three stages throughout VELD 2023, with something different to experience at each location. Electronic dance music takes over the main stage for the entire weekend, while house music will dominate the Sirkus Stage. Over at the Hillside Stage, UK hip-hop and grime reign supreme on Friday, August 4. Friday’s lineup includes headliner Central Cee, hip-hop duo Krept and Konan, and drill artist K-Trap. Meanwhile, the rest of the weekend the stage will be the home of dubstep and bass.

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce this year’s lineup and celebrate our 10th anniversary with some of our favourite performers from VELD’s past, as well as introduce some new faces and genres to continue to make this the highlight of Toronto’s summer,” Talal Farisi, Music Director, INK Entertainment Group said in a statement.

“VELD wouldn’t be what it is today without the fans and incredible artists that have graced the stage over the last decade. We are grateful for all the support and good vibes they bring to the festival every year and are looking forward to that continuing for the next 10 years to come.”
